If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (John 15:7)
When we abide in Christ it will be easy for us to consider the love of God to mankind and this makes our heart to swell with thanksgiving to Him. As parents our heart is filled with joy when we see our children in obedience to our instructions. Whenever such a child should approach us for any thing we will heartily grant the request. Even if we can’t give them what they want we will not mind promising them that we will do our best grant them what they wanted from us.
In similar manner it is God’s great delight to see his children doing his will. In our today’s text God said “|If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” The first question that comes to your mind is How do we abide in God? In order for us to abide in Christ is to live our life according to his words. No wonder the next statement is that if His word would abide in us.
This is not mental knowledge of God’s word but rather indwelling of the word in our heart. The word should be our guide, the first thing to consider before we take any action or decision, the very essence of our living. We should consider the word to be of value more than every other thing valuable to us. We should regularly study the word not only reading it. Its importance should make us to create regular time for its study. When we do all these things then the word without any doubt will make us to abide in Christ.
The wonderful blessing that follows the word abiding in us is that we will ask what we will and God shall do it. Do you have unanswered prayer, Check your life to see if the word is abiding in you, if you are living your life according to the leading of his word. If your answer to this is positive just hold on, definitely it is question of time he will answer you prayer in as much as you abide in Christ.
Go could comfortably say that you will ask what you WILL and He shall grnt you that Your WILL. Why, because He knows that if His words abide in you, your will can never be contrary to his will. It will not be difficult for Him to grant you your request. It is our earnest prayer today that God in his mercy will help everyone of us to abide in God and let His word abide in us so that we will have His blessing in our life.
