He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)
It is true that you would want to be filled with the power of God as a Christian. This is the exact interest of God because it sure that without the power of God in your life it will be very difficult to make success of your journey to heaven.
Glory be to God because he can do all things. The Holy Scripture is full of all the miracles that were done in the bible. The lame were made to walk, the blind were made to see. Sinners were delivered from the grip of sin and granted the lease of life.
Jesus is telling you today that all the record in the bible is a child’s play if only you can believe in him. Why is it so because he is going back to the father in heaven. When he was here that he accomplished so much he was in flesh like me and you but now he is back to his natural heavenly position.
This is one of the passages in the scripture that had posed great challenge to professed Christians. Because of unbelief they could not believe that God can grant them the enabling to do greater works than Jesus. May God increase our faith. If it is difficult for you to believe that you can become the son of God with all attributes of God. How much more difficult to believe that you will the works that are greater than what Jesus had done.
Remember that the word of God cannot be abridged, whatsoever he says stands sure and unchangeable for ever. Heaven and the earth will pass away but the little jot of his word will never go unfulfilled. The challenge now is to believe him and lets see if we will not accomplish more works than he had done.
Devil would rather make you to feel unworthy of this promise of God. He would rather make you to feel that it is an act of pride to appropriate this promise, but it is the lie of devil. The word says that if only you can believe in Jesus. May God grant you that eternal faith to believe in him.
The promise once again is that ‘the works that I do shall he do also’ this first part is great. It is enough to do the works that Jesus did. It is worthy ambition that if achieved, you could be described as being successful christian. Glory be to God.
More that that is the second part of the promise which is this ‘greater [works] than these shall he do’ glory be to God. This is a point for me and you to consider. Why are we achieving so little in our personal, secular and spiritual life. We must do heart searching at this point. May God remove all the spiritual leakages in our spiritual life.
The verse said that if you believe in him. May God increase our faith so that we can achieve what God had promised us in our life. So that we will be able to take all the bounty supplies that God has in stock for us. God bless you.

Assurance of Victory at all Times
Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Romans 10:11).
Do you believe in the lord? You will never be ashamed. I am sure you will say Amen, because no sane person would want to be ashamed no matter what the situation is.
For you that believe in the lord it is more than prayer that you will not be ashamed but it is eternal promise of God to you. In as much as you believe in the lord Jesus Christ you will have your way through all the challenges of life. It is the word of God and so shall it be.
In case you are yet to be grounded in the lord so that you can enjoy this great blessing of God this is an opportunity for you. Accept the word of God that all had sinned and come short of the glory of God, including you.
Believe that statement of fact and that because of that the judgment of God is on all unregenerate heart. If you believe this the next thing is that you will be interested in the way out of the wrath of God.
You will be looking for the way to change position, to be where you will never be ashamed. The promise is for those that believed in Him. If you believe in this state of sinfulness of every man in this world, then you will desire the way out.
The only way out is for you to believe in the death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary for your forgiveness. Since you admit that all have sinned ad needs redemption call on Jesus to wash your sins away with his blood after you had confess all your sins to God with promise that you will never go back to them again.

Conditional Salvation
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name (John 1:12)
I am sure you will not feel very comfortable with the title of our discussion today. It is generally believed that Jesus came and died for the whole world. This is the truth and a statement of fact but unfortunately it is sad to note that not all will be saved. This will be so not because God cannot save all or the efficacy in the blood of Jesus is not enough but the problem is with them.
It is even surprising that some people find it offensive when you refer to yourself as a child of God. They wonder how possible can a man be so confident to refer to himself as a son of God. Some people consider it to be an act of pride. But we can all see it in the passage that there are people that can be referred to as the children of God.
The provision is for as many people that received him. When you received him you will be granted the power to become a son of God. This is the greatest privilege in the whole world. That means to be adopted into the family of God.
I am very sure that you will be highly elated if you have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of family of the first citizen of this country. To be referred to as a member of president family. In our country this will last for the maximum of eight years. After the tenure in the office it becomes family of ex-president.
When you are adopted into God’s family you it becomes eternal relationship so far you maintained the power bestowed onto you at the point of conversion. You have the full privilege with all other brethren even the first born of the family of God which is our lord Jesus Christ. This is great; it is something to aspire for.
